Dynamic Dog
Have you noticed that your dog’s behaviour has changed?
Does your dog exhibit quirks or unwanted behaviour?
Is your dog anxious or reactive?
Have you noticed that your dog does not like to be touched in certain areas or no longer wants cuddles?
Does your dog avoid certain positions or movements?
Are you a dog care professional and do you believe that discomfort may be a contributing factor to the behaviour your client is experiencing?
If the answer is yes to any or all the above, your dog would probably benefit from a Dynamic Dog assessment. The result of a recent study from Lincoln University and Daniel Mills et al, showed that, in the range of 80% of dogs presenting with a behavioural problem, undiagnosed pain had been a direct cause or had led to the exacerbation of the problem. As a qualified Dynamic Dog practitioner, Lisa specialises in carrying out a holistic, hands-free functional assessment of your dog to establish potential causes for their behaviour, whether existing or emerging. A Dynamic Dog assessment can work alongside any current behaviour or training plans you may have in place, and Lisa is happy to be part of a collaborative team with your trainer, behaviourist, vet, and/or therapist.
Signs of discomfort or pain can be subtle and often go unnoticed, which is not surprising considering the stoic nature of our pet dogs.
A vet assessment does not always highlight areas of concern, especially since most dogs experience a raised adrenaline level when visiting the veterinary clinic, which in turn masks any discomfort. It is not until the dog is seen in their own environment and at their natural balance that potential issues can be observed.
A Dynamic Dog assessment includes gathering evidence such as photos and videos, and will look at all aspects of your dog, including their daily routine and their human family. All the information gathered will be collated and any observations made will be compiled in a report to be presented to yourself and your dog’s vet.

Are you a Dog Professional?
If you work in the dog care industry, for example as a trainer or groomer, the Dynamic Dog assessment can be used as part of a collaboration to help you and your client. What does an assessment consist of?
Initial Consultation – this will last approximately sixty to ninety minutes. We will cover everything from the daily routine, to your dog’s habits (yes, that includes toileting), to diet, to play, to sleep, and much more. This may lead to many unexplored topics and thoughts, there is never too much information to be gained. As everything is connected – physical, emotional and mental – a full and detailed assessment is vital. The initial consult can be carried out in person or virtually.
Evidence Gathering – this will involve taking a variety of photos and videos to show all aspects of your dog’s life, focusing on their movement and posture. You will be guided on how to get the best possible visual evidence so that observations can be made.
Evidence Analysis – all written and visual evidence will be assessed, so that nothing is overlooked, and a detailed analysis can be given.
Veterinary Report and Liaison – a comprehensive report will then be compiled and sent, with the corresponding evidence, to your dog’s vet. With the use of this report, we will liaise with your vet so that any potential underlying issues are investigated, diagnosed, and supported, minimising the impact these potential issues could have on your dog and you.
Follow-up Support – support is given throughout the Dynamic Dog process, including after report submission and diagnosis. Short-term support and advice can be given following the initial diagnosis, in order to help you manage the outcome. Long-term support and advice can be discussed depending on the outcome of the diagnosis.
The cost of a full Dynamic Dog assessment, report and follow-up is £150 (excl. VAT).
